To make the beds as comfortable as possible, discussions centered around the most important part of the mattress: the springs themselves.

In cooperation with, amongst others, fysiotherapists, doctors and testpanels, Jensen came to a clear conclusion.

Any mattress with identical soft- or firmness from head to toe will result in an uneven distribution of pressure on the body, which will lead to less relaxed sleeping.

Entirely different results were reached by testing with mattresses that had different zones of soft- and firmness.

This is how Jensen booked the positive results that now form the foundation of the Jensen Original Zone System.

The zone-system's principle is as logical as it is natural.

Most people are broadest at the shoulders and hips; the waist is more narrow.

Since the mattress must support the body, a mattress with different zones will do so more evenly and comfortably.

The waist's support is firmer that the support of shoulder and hip, that can therefore sink deeper into the mattress.

It doesn't matter whether one sleeps on one's side or back; the end result remains the same.

The Jensen Original Zone System was introduced at the end of the Nineties, for the principal models.

By now, the principle of the zone system is a prerequisite for sleeping comfort, and this is the reason that Jensen has further developed the system in the new generation of zone mattresses.
