Jensen's goal, to realize 'the best mattress on the market' dates back to the mid Nineties.
To make the beds as comfortable as possible, discussions centered around the most important part of the mattress: the springs themselves.
In cooperation with, amongst others, fysiotherapists, doctors and testpanels, Jensen came to a clear conclusion.
Any mattress with identical soft- or firmness from head to toe will result in an uneven distribution of pressure on the body, which will lead to less relaxed sleeping.
Entirely different results were reached by testing with mattresses that had different zones of soft- and firmness.
This is how Jensen booked the positive results that now form the foundation of the Jensen Original Zone System.
The zone-system's principle is as logical as it is natural.
Most people are broadest at the shoulders and hips; the waist is more narrow.
Since the mattress must support the body, a mattress with different zones will do so more evenly and comfortably.
The waist's support is firmer that the support of shoulder and hip, that can therefore sink deeper into the mattress.
It doesn't matter whether one sleeps on one's side or back; the end result remains the same.
The Jensen Original Zone System was introduced at the end of the Nineties, for the principal models.
By now, the principle of the zone system is a prerequisite for sleeping comfort, and this is the reason that Jensen has further developed the system in the new generation of zone mattresses.
When Jensen's new Supreme Collection hit the market and this range won a prize of the Norwegian Design Council, people realized a bed can also be an item of class and beauty.
Jensen combines the traditional craftsmanship of olden days with the most modern techniques of today's world. Present-day mountaineers would not climb Mount Everest if all one had at one's disposal was woollen and cotton clothing.
It is so much more comfortable to wear moisture-regulating underwear, lightweight fleece and Gore Tex outdoor-clothing. This is precisely the reason why Jensen uses stretch materials on the sleeping surface, so that the bed can perfectly match the contours of your body and you can experience the effect of the Jensen zones.
This is why Jensen uses Ultra Pocket or hourglass-shaped springs. An Ultra Pocket springsystem has more than 40% more springs at its disposal than a standard one, so the distribution of weight is greatly improved.
The hourglass-shaped pocketspring is especially made for Jensen. The function of the hourglass shape is simple but brilliant and contributes to a considerable improvement to comfort. The springs of hardened steel are yielding at the ends and offer more resistance in the middle. This makes it possible to sink deeper into the mattress while at the same time the body gets more support from the firmness in the middle of the spring.
And it is also why Jensen uses high-quality Talalay-latex. Talalay-latex is renowned for its durability and comfort, and surpasses all other foams. The even cell-distribution and open cellular structure guarantee a high peak pressure and optimal elasticity.
Talalay-latex, of its own accord, is anti-bacterial and also denies opportunity to mildew and house mite. Thanks to the unique production process Talalay-latex has no closed skin. The mattress core can therefore breathe, which is good for your body.
All mattresses fitted with the Jensen label comply with the Öko-Tex 100 standard, which takes into account you and the environment. All Jensen beds comply with the Scandinavian quality norm Møbelfakta, a standard for durability and quality.
No other threepiece Continental boxspring is built the way Jensen does it: with three different layers of springs. In the topmost mattress you will find the Hourglass pocketspring, distributed across five different comfortzones for an optimal support of the body.
In the boxspring you will find a double layer of Ultra pocketsprings, for even greater comfort and an optimal support of the mattress. This makes the Jensen Supreme Continental boxspring unique, there is no other boxspring sporting a double layer of pocketsprings.
On top of boxspring and mattress a topmattress is laid, which provides an extra soft sensation.
The Talalay-latex stuffing, together with the stretch materials, offers you a better contact with the comfortzones so that your body recovers optimally and you enjoy a well-earned night's rest.
Electrically adjustable boxsprings, with a view to the adjustability, have a single spring system in the boxspring, an Ultra-pocket suspension.
The Jensen Aqtive and the Jensen Vital Basic come with a wired remote control, the Jensen Vital de Luxe and the Jensen Dynamique are fitted with a wireless remote that operates the adjustable head and foot, which in turn are controlled by two, almost soundless electrical motors.
The automatic Pull Back System of both Vitals and the Dynamique ensures that the head is always in the proper position in relation to the bedside table. The most extensive massage function (Vital de Luxe and Dynamique) stimulates blood circulation and is wonderfully relaxing to legs, head and neck.
Jensen feels very strongly about innovation. That's why, in October 2004, an entirely new, completely electrically adjustable boxspring was introduced, under the name 'Supreme DynamiqueTM'. The Supreme DynamiqueTM boxspring is, apart from the de massage, which comes standard with all of Jensen's electrically adjustable boxsprings, fitted with progressive accessories, with resounding names like A.T.E.TM, VentronicTM, Safety lockTM and Bluetooth.
The Supreme DynamiqueTM has entirely newly developed ergonomics, called A.T.E.TM. It stands for Advanced Technology Ergonomics. This new technology, developed by Jensen Møbler, provides even more comfort and greater pleasure in use of the boxspring. A.T.E.TM ensures that the back segment is simultaneously pushed up- and backwards, without, of course, making the user feel like he or she is being folded up.
Besides that, the Supreme DynamiqueTM comes with a cooling VentronicTM, through which a refreshing current of air provides coolness and more ventilation. This option was especially developed for people who perspire excessively at night, and with it Jensen has a first, in the bedding industry.
Innovative, and a nouveauté for electrically adjustable beds, is the Safety lockTM for child safety. As soon as someone sticks a hand or foot below the bed, an infrared sensor makes sure the bed remains in its position, so that no limbs can get jammed under it. This, too, gives Jensen a one-up on the competition.
For the Supreme DynamiqueTM Jensen has developed a new wireless remote control, that communicates with the bed through Bluetooth.
Advantage to this connection is that it responds directly. The remote, moreover, is fitted with a memory, making it easy to program. The Bluetooth-technology can make sure the sleeper is wakened with a relaxing massage.
All Jensen beds come with a 5 year full guarantee on manufacture and construction, and a 15 year guarantee on frame and springs.
